Recent Intel Processors come with a new dynamic performance feature called “Intel TurboBoost Technology”. This technology gets activated when the processor (CPU) asks for more processing power.
When the processor is operating below these limits and Windows demands for additional processing power due to the job being executed, the processor frequency will dynamically increase by 133 MHz on short and regular intervals until the upper limit is met.
For example a Intel Core i5 Processor with a clock speed of 2.53 GHz can boost up to 3.066 GHz when the Operating System demands it. The maximum frequency is dependent on the number of active cores.
So if your computer features one of Intel Processor with this technology, you may like a cool looking sidebar gadget that will display the additional pump of processing power given by processor in real-time.
To install Intel Turbo Boost Technology Gadget in your Windows 7 PC…
1. Right-click in empty are of desktop and click “Gadgets”.
2. Look for “Intel Turbo Boost Technology Monitor 1.1” and double-click on it. If your PC supports this feature, this gadget should be located here.
